Once a customer knows the size, the real dilemma begins: hundreds of patterns on the shelves, and every one of them beautiful on its own. This guide orders the decision the same way we order it for showroom visitors: style first, then color, then material. Size has its own complete guide, published before this one.
First: style, decide your majlis's character
Our whole collection revolves around four styles, the same categories you browse on our site. Classic carries central medallions and traditional ornament, and it suits the formal Arabic majlis with floor seating or stately sofas. Modern keeps its patterns quiet or abstract with few colors, and it fits contemporary homes and simple furniture. Modern classic takes the spirit of old ornament in today's calmer shades, and it settles things when two tastes share one house. And premium pieces show their softness and sheen at first glance; their place is the reception majlis you want your guest to remember.
Second: color, two rules that settle the hesitation
Rule one: decide from the start whether your rug follows or leads. A following rug picks up a shade already in your seating or sofas, and the room calms down and connects. A leading rug carries the strongest color in the majlis while everything around it stays quiet. Both ways work; the only mistake is two leads competing in one room. Rule two comes from our own homes: a majlis that hosts guests every week is served by warm shades and worked patterns, because they hide the traces of use between cleanings, while plain light colors belong in calmer rooms. And if strong sun enters your majlis for long hours, tell us when you choose and we'll point you to fibers whose colors hold longest.
Third: material, the short version
The shorthand from our shelves: polypropylene for heavy use, hallways, busy guest majlis, and homes with children. Polyester is softer with brighter color, the best fit for family majlis and living rooms, and most of our collection is made of it. Viscose is the most luxurious and the shiniest, and its place is the calm formal majlis away from entrances and humidity. And for anyone who wants the full picture in numbers, weight, stitch count, and pile height, we wrote a complete guide that teaches you to read the specification label yourself.
Try it in your majlis before you decide
Down to two or three pieces? Open each one's page on your phone and tap the See it in your home button, and the rug appears on your own floor at its true size, in your own light. Or send a photo of your majlis on WhatsApp and we'll suggest pieces that match its colors; we solve this puzzle for customers every day, and have since 1994. And before you buy, come feel the piece with your own hand at our showroom on King Abdulaziz Street in Dammam.
