A customer arrives with a quote from somewhere else, noticeably cheaper than ours, and asks us plainly: why are you more expensive? A fair question, and our honest answer: sometimes the other quote really is a better deal, and sometimes the difference is hidden in the details and you pay it later without noticing. These are the cases we hear from customers themselves. Read them before committing anywhere, with us or anyone else.
First: who counted the meters, and how many did they write?
The most common trick in moquette pricing isn't the price per meter. It's the number of meters. You're shown an attractively low meter price, then the area is counted generously, extra meters here and there in the name of wastage and cutting. The final invoice ends up above the quote that looked more expensive but counted honestly. Always ask for the area to be written in the quote itself, and ask: if the actual measured area comes out lower, does the price drop? The answer to that question reveals a lot.
Second: is the material written the material that gets installed?
Two moquettes can look identical in the showroom and on installation day, with the difference appearing months later: lower density crushing underfoot and colors fading in the sun. Ask for the specifications in writing, the type, density, and country of manufacture, and ask to see the actual roll that will be installed, not just a small sample.
Third: is the price all-inclusive?
- Is delivery inside the price or added later?
- Is installation included? Does it cover floor preparation if needed?
- Are there extra charges for stairs, corners, or cutting around columns?
- Who handles removing the old flooring, if any?
Fourth: what happens if something goes wrong?
Ask before paying: if a defect appears in the material or a mistake in the fitting, who fixes it, and how fast? The shop that answers clearly before the sale will stand behind you after it. The shop that dodges the question before taking your money won't change afterwards.
Our own practice
We don't claim to be the cheapest, and we won't promise perfection. We promise what we've worked by since 1991: we measure your space and charge for its actual meters with nothing added, we write the material and specifications into the quote, and the price we agree is the price you pay. Compare any quotes with these four questions, and whatever you choose afterwards, you'll be buying with open eyes. And if you'd like a quote from us, send your approximate area on WhatsApp and it reaches you the same day.
